2. Mandatory driver verification
Before any driver can book a car on TripWip, they have to pass 3 mandatory checks:
Identity and driving licence: we validate their ID document and a valid licence.
Address: we confirm the address they gave us, so there's a real point of contact.
Credit profile: we review their financial behaviour to spot signs of risk.

3. Secure payment gateway and held deposit
TripWip has a secure payment gateway that protects the transaction between hosts and drivers. For extra security, and for any charges that may come up:
We hold a deposit on the driver's payment method before the rental starts. That covers minor scratches, missing fuel, extra cleaning, deductibles, fines, and so on.
Tokenised payment method: the driver's card is linked to their TripWip account, so any later charge (fines, tolls, damage that shows up afterwards) is collected automatically, without you having to chase anyone.
Protection in case of misuse: these mechanisms let us handle any additional charge quickly and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive self-drive rental policy
Your vehicle is protected by a comprehensive policy for the rental period, taken out by TripWip with the strongest insurers in each market: RUS (Argentina), Sancor (Uruguay) and AXA (Mexico).
It includes:
Protection against material damage.
Crash and collision.
Cover against total and partial theft.
Third-party liability.
Roadside assistance.
This means anything that comes up is covered, giving you peace of mind while your vehicle is being used.
5. TripWip Connect
TripWip Connect is our GPS service, which lets you follow your vehicle's location in real time during the rental. With it you have more control and peace of mind, knowing exactly where your car is at all times. This service is currently available in Mexico.
