Guide to Protecting Yourself from Fraud and Scams on TripWip

Learn about TripWip's security measures and follow these recommendations to avoid fraud when renting your vehicle.

Updated today

At TripWip, we work to ensure that your vehicle rental experience is safe and reliable. For that, we have internal verification processes and provide you with tools to keep you protected at all times.
Here are some key recommendations to avoid fraud or unwanted situations.

1. We verify all users before approving them

Before anyone can rent a vehicle on TripWip, we conduct a thorough review of their information and documentation.
Only once approved can they start a reservation on the platform.

2. Always collect the rental payment before handing over the vehicle

Never hand over the car if the rental is not confirmed and charged through the app.
When a rental is ready to start, you will see the “Deliver vehicle” button enabled.
This means that the payment has been processed correctly and the insurance is active.

3. Always use the app to manage rentals

All rentals must be managed exclusively through the app or the official website.
Avoid agreements outside the platform, as they will not be covered or protected by TripWip.

4. You have all-risk insurance during each rental

All active vehicles on TripWip are covered by all-risk insurance, valid only if the rental was managed through the app.
This protects you in case of accidents, theft, or damage, as long as the usage conditions are met.

5. When in doubt, consult us

If something doesn't feel right, the profile makes you uneasy, or you have doubts about a reservation, write to us before handing over the vehicle.
Our team is here to help you and prevent any risky situation.
