TripWip connects people who have a car available with people who need to rent one. It works like a marketplace: hosts list their cars and drivers choose the one that best fits their trip.
If you have a car and want to rent it out
Sign up and list your car. You create your account and upload photos of the vehicle, the price per day, availability and conditions. Listing is free.
Receive requests. Drivers send you booking requests and you decide which ones to accept or reject.
Hand over the car and get paid. You agree on the place and time for the hand-over. When the booking is made, TripWip charges its fee and the insurance, and before the trip starts a security deposit is held from the driver (see When is the security deposit charged on TripWip?).
In Uruguay and Argentina, the driver pays you the rest of the rental directly —in cash or by transfer— when you hand over the car.
In Mexico, the driver pays 100% in the app and TripWip transfers your earnings every week.
If you need to rent a car
Search for a car. You search by location, dates, price and type of vehicle until you find the one that fits what you need.
Send a request. You send the booking request from the app or the web. The host reviews it and, if they accept, you agree on the hand-over and the return together.
Drive and return it. Your trip is covered by the insurance plan you choose. At the end, you return the car in the agreed condition and, once the trip is closed, the security deposit is released following the timelines of each payment method.
