As a host, your responsibility is to ensure that the car is in perfect cleaning condition for the next rental. Below, we detail what is expected and how to proceed if the vehicle is returned in an inadequate state.
What is expected of you as a host?
When you put your vehicle for rent, it is essential that you deliver it clean, both inside and out. Here’s what you should keep in mind:
Clean interior: The car must be free of food remnants, drinks, personal items, and bad odors.
Clean exterior: Make sure the car is free of mud, visible stains, or excessive dirt.
It is part of the service you provide that the vehicle is ready and in optimal condition for the driver to use.
What to do if the car is returned dirty by the driver?
If the driver returns the vehicle in an excessively dirty state, you can file a claim. However, keep in mind that, as a host, your responsibility is to ensure that the car is clean before making it available for the next rental.
If the vehicle is returned dirty, follow these steps:
Document the condition of the vehicle: Take clear photos of the interior and exterior of the car to have evidence of the condition in which it was returned.
Assess the severity of the dirt: If the dirt is light (for example, dust or small stains) or excessive (food remnants, stuck dirt, etc.), the corresponding fees will apply.
Initiate the claim: If you believe the car was returned in very dirty conditions, contact our customer service and provide the photos of the vehicle along with a description of the problem.
Cleaning as part of the service
Remember that, as a host, you are expected to maintain the cleanliness of the car between rentals. If the car is returned dirty by the previous driver, you can clean the vehicle and claim the cleaning cost from the driver who returned it dirty, as long as the situation is verified.
Applicable cleaning fees
If the vehicle is returned dirtier than it was initially delivered, cleaning fees may apply. These fees will depend on the severity of the dirt and can apply to both the interior and exterior of the car. The fees are as follows:
Uruguay:
Light dirt: 10 USD
Excessive dirt: 25 USD
Mexico:
Light dirt: 250 MXN
Excessive dirt: 600 MXN
Cleaning claim process
If the car was delivered in a dirty state and you wish to claim, follow these steps:
Clean the vehicle: If the car is very dirty, you can proceed to clean it.
Document the condition upon return: Take clear photos of the interior and exterior of the car to send as evidence of the cleaning performed.
Initiate the claim: Complete the claim form with the photos and description of the problem. Our team will contact you to resolve the situation.
Pet policy
Remember that if you allow pets in your vehicle, you must specify it in the description as “Pet Friendly.” Drivers must use a seat cover and return the car clean. If the car is returned dirty due to pets, a cleaning fee will apply.
