Common Mistakes That Lower Your Car's Visibility

Learn about the most common mistakes that lower your car's visibility and how to avoid them to receive more bookings.

Updated today

If you notice that your vehicle is not receiving as many bookings as you expected, there may be some details affecting its visibility within the app. In this article, we show you the most common mistakes that can negatively influence and how to correct them.

1. Unclear or low-quality photos

Photos are the first thing users see. If your vehicle has dark, blurry images, or poor lighting, it is likely to go unnoticed compared to others.

✅ Solution: Use sharp photos with good lighting, showing the car from different angles and in a clean environment.

2. Rejecting many rental requests

Even if you don't see it directly, every time you reject a request, your acceptance rate decreases. This rate is an internal metric we use at TripWip to rank vehicles in search results. The higher it is, the higher your car appears in the app.

✅ Solution: Accept most of the requests you receive. To avoid receiving rentals that you cannot take, you can:
– Set a minimum booking days from the vehicle settings.
– Mark on the calendar the days when your car will not be available.

These tools help you filter the bookings you can actually take, keeping your rate high and improving your visibility.

3. Incomplete or generic description

A brief, confusing, or lacking key details description can generate distrust or disinterest.

✅ Solution: Share everything your car has, what it’s like to drive it, what extras it includes, and any details that help the user imagine using it.

4. Price out of the market

If your rate is much higher than similar cars, you could be losing bookings.

✅ Solution: Compare prices of similar vehicles in your area and adjust yours to stay competitive.

5. Negative ratings or few reviews

Other users' opinions are key. A profile with bad reviews or no ratings can generate distrust.

✅ Solution: Provide good service with every rental and always ask your users to leave you a review at the end.

6. Not updating vehicle availability

If the calendar is outdated or has unnecessary blocks, visibility automatically decreases.

✅ Solution: Keep your availability up to date. If you are going to be without the car, mark the blocked dates. If it is available, make sure it is visible.

Avoiding these mistakes and using the app's tools well can help you gain more visibility and secure more bookings.
