What is car verification on TripWip?
It's the process by which, once you finish listing your car in the app, TripWip checks that the paperwork is in order and that the vehicle meets the conditions needed to be rented on the platform. Those conditions vary by market (Uruguay, Argentina or Mexico), so what's asked for in one country may not apply in another.
How long does verification take?
Between 24 and 48 business hours from the moment you finish listing the car. In most cases it's resolved within that window.
How will I know if my car didn't pass verification?
You'll find out in two ways:
In the app, where the status of your listing is updated.
Through the TripWip team getting in touch, to tell you the reason and the next steps.
No automatic email is sent: the main channels are the app and direct contact from the team.
What are the most common reasons a car isn't approved?
The three most frequent reasons are:
Missing paperwork: one of the documents required in your market is missing.
Paperwork that doesn't match: the details you entered don't match the documents submitted (ownership, vehicle details, and so on).
The car doesn't meet the minimum age set for your market.
Before listing your car, look over the requirements to become a host and list your car on the platform to reduce the chances of being turned down.
Can I retry verification if it wasn't approved?
Yes, you can retry as many times as you want. Fix whatever TripWip pointed out (upload the missing document, correct the details, and so on) and submit it again. There's no limit on attempts.
How do I check the status of my verification?
There are several official channels:
The chatbot inside the app.
The official numbers published on the TripWip platform.
The phone numbers of verified TripWip staff.
Use only these channels, to avoid fake communications.
What happens when my car does pass verification?
Once approved, your car becomes visible on the platform and drivers can start booking it. From then on you can work on optimising your listing (prices, discounts, photos, description) to start getting bookings.
