Yes. You can rent with a debit card in Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico.
TripWip accepts credit and debit cards in all three markets. What you do need, with either one, is for the card to cover the security deposit: a hold placed before the trip and released after it ends.

In Mexico the amount depends on the insurance plan: the three values correspond to Basic, Gold and Platinum.
Three things worth knowing
The card doesn't have to be in your name. It can belong to someone else, as long as you're the one listed as the driver.
The deposit isn't a charge. It's a blocked amount: you don't lose it, it isn't spent and it isn't debited if the trip ends without issues.
With a debit card the money comes out of your balance while the hold lasts, so it's best to have the amount available. With a credit card it uses your limit, not your balance.
When it comes back
TripWip releases the deposit 5 business days after the rental ends. From then on, the refund is processed by the bank that issued your card, so it usually shows up within 5 to 15 business days, depending on the bank.
If there was an incident or a claim is still open, the hold stays in place until the case is resolved, and the 5-day period doesn't start. We'll keep in touch with you until it's closed.
