At TripWip, we have a clear and efficient process for handling traffic fines incurred during rentals. Our goal is to protect hosts and ensure that drivers take responsibility for these situations.
1. Charging fines to the driver
Driver's responsibility: All fines incurred during the rental period are the responsibility of the driver.
Tokenized payment methods: We have a secure system that allows the fine amount to be charged directly to the driver's registered card.
Administrative fee: TripWip applies an administrative fee of 10% of the fine amount, which is also charged to the driver.
2. Fine claims by the host
Maximum period: In Mexico, hosts have up to 6 months to report fines related to a rental.
Notification process: The host must inform TripWip about the fine with the corresponding details.
3. Payment transfer to the host
Once the driver pays the fine, TripWip transfers the amount to the host via a bank transfer.
This process ensures that hosts do not incur additional costs for fines generated by drivers.
Recommendations for hosts and drivers
Drive responsibly: It is important to respect traffic laws to avoid fines.
Communicate in a timely manner: Hosts should report any fines within the established period to ensure their collection.
Check the status: Hosts and drivers can verify the status of the fine process through the TripWip app.
At TripWip, we work to provide a safe and transparent experience, ensuring that each situation is handled fairly for both parties.
