To list your car on TripWip, the vehicle must be no more than 10 years old, in good mechanical condition and clean, carry the equipment required by law (fire extinguisher, jack, spare wheel) and have the right paperwork (the ownership document and the host's ID).
These are the general requirements that apply as a baseline. On top of that, each market (Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico) has its own additional requirements, which are checked when your car is approved.
How old can the car be?
The car must be no more than 10 years old. That's the general requirement across every market. Each country may have additional specific demands about age or other technical aspects.
What mechanical condition does the car have to be in?
The car has to be in optimal condition, safe and working properly:
Service up to date.
Engine and transmission in good condition.
Brakes in perfect condition.
Safe steering and suspension.
Tyres with enough tread and the right pressure.
Lights working at 100%.
Windscreen with no cracks.
Seat belts available for every passenger.
What cleanliness requirements does the car have to meet?
The car must be spotless:
Clean exterior.
Vacuumed interior, with none of the host's personal items in it.
No strong smells (tobacco, food, pets, and so on).
What equipment is the car required to carry?
The car must carry the items required by law in your country. As a minimum, every market requires:
A fire extinguisher in working order.
A working jack.
A spare wheel.
What paperwork do I have to submit?
The specific paperwork varies by market, but broadly you need:
The car's ownership document.
The host's ID document.

Which cars aren't accepted on TripWip?
We don't accept cars with:
Known mechanical faults that put the driver at risk.
Serious bodywork damage that affects the safety of the vehicle.
Illegal or unapproved modifications.
If your car has any of these, it won't pass verification. In those cases it's best to fix the problem before trying to list it.
