I have a charge I don’t recognize — what should I do?

If you see a charge on your card you don't recognize, don't worry. TripWip has different types of charges, and most of them are explained in your booking. Here's how to identify them and what to do.

TripWip's main charges

1. Vehicle rental How much is paid through the platform and how much is paid directly to the host depends on the country where the booking is made. Read here how rental payment works in each country.

2. Security deposit When you book, and for the safety of both parties, TripWip holds a security deposit. This amount is used to protect hosts against possible minor damage and additional charges such as:

  • Special cleaning

  • Excess mileage

  • Fines

  • Tolls

Read here the security deposit details for each country.

3. Additional post-trip charges These are charges that may apply after the rental ends:

  • Damage or use of the insurance (deductible)

  • Fines or tolls

  • Excess mileage

  • Special cleaning

These charges are processed after the trip and may show up days later. If you need more information about a charge, contact support and we'll give you the details.
