If you have any type of incident or accident with the vehicle you rented, it is best to take the necessary precautions and follow the steps in this article
Car Accident: A car accident is considered any unexpected event that results in physical damage to the insured vehicle, injuries to the occupants of the vehicle, or to third parties. This can include collisions with other vehicles, fixed objects, or animals, as well as significant damage caused by external factors such as fallen trees or floods.
Car Incident: It is defined as any event that does not cause significant damage or serious injuries but still requires intervention or reporting by the insurance company. This can range from minor scrapes and dents to damage caused by vandalism, attempted theft, minor mechanical issues, or any other situation that does not result in a serious accident.
1. First of all, whenever possible, you should report the incident to TripWip through the app.
3. Then, file a report with Sancor Seguros by calling their claims line 0800 8500. It is important to indicate that it is a rented car from TripWip.
4. In case of mechanical failures that prevent moving the vehicle, you should also stay in a safe place, preferably not inside the vehicle if it is in a risky area.
5. Sancor will contact you requesting photos of the vehicle's condition and will indicate if it is necessary for a representative to come to the scene.
6. Complete this form so we can follow up on your case from the TripWip platform and indicate the next steps.
In case there are third parties involved in the incident, it will be the Driver's responsibility to ensure that those third parties file the corresponding reports with their own insurance, in order to properly manage coverage and enable the waiver of the deductible payment, if applicable.
Once the report is managed, TripWip along with the Host will take care of the subsequent management. We will ask you for a series of documents since the driver is the insured under the All-Risk Coverage policy.
