Every time a booking is made through TripWip, a digital contract is automatically generated between the host and the driver, backed by our Terms and Conditions. When you accept a booking you take on a set of responsibilities under that contract. Meeting them makes for a good experience for the driver and protects you if anything comes up.
1. Hand the vehicle over in top condition
At the handover, the car must be:
Clean, inside and out.
With the fuel level agreed in the booking.
In good mechanical condition: no serious faults, safe to drive.
With all the mandatory paperwork up to date (registration document, insurance, and so on, depending on the country).
It's the host's responsibility to make sure the vehicle is in order before handing it over. That cuts down on claims and improves your chances of getting good reviews.
2. Stick to the agreed times
It's important that you are:
At the agreed place and time for the handover.
Available to arrange the return on the terms agreed.
Being on time is key so the driver's trip starts without friction.

3. Collect the amount the app tells you
The payment is split in two:
The driver pays TripWip's commission + the insurance in the app.
The rest of the rental amount is paid directly to the host when the vehicle is picked up (in the countries where this applies).
Always check in the app how much you are due to collect, and:
Don't hand the car over until you have received the payment the platform tells you about.
That way both parties are protected and in line with the contract.
4. Report anything irregular before handing the car over
If, before handing the car over, you notice something unusual — for example:
Doubts about the driver's identity.
Things that don't match the booking.
Situations that make you uneasy.
Write to TripWip support from the app straight away, before going ahead with the handover.
