What happens if the payment fails on TripWip?

A rental is only confirmed when the payment is processed successfully.

If the host approves your request but the payment cannot be completed:

  • The reservation is not confirmed.

  • The vehicle is not blocked.

  • You will need to resolve the payment and request the rental again.

When can the payment fail?

The payment can fail at two moments:

  1. At the time of making the reservation
When you try to pay for the rental on the platform.

  2. At the time of charging the deposit
    The deposit can be charged:

    • At the same time as the reservation, or

    • Up to 72 hours before the start of the rental, depending on how close the date is.

If the system fails to process that charge, the rental may be automatically canceled.

What should you do if the payment fails?

  1. Check the notification received by email or in the app.

  2. Verify if you have:

    • Sufficient funds.

    • The card enabled for online purchases.

    • Authorized international purchases (if applicable).

  3. Try again with the same card.

  4. If the problem persists, try another payment method.

You can then request the rental again.
